URBNSURF will be built on 7 hectares of land owned by Melbourne Airport, which will be leased to Wave Park Group who hold the official license to wave generating technology (Wavegarden) in Australia. With such a great size, the park will be able to cater to up to 90 surfers at one time with ease.

On dry land and in the airport itself, there are still plenty of things to do and, it's only set to get better. Melbourne Airport's Terminal 2 is getting a drastic makeover which is set to transform the eating and shopping precinct.
Plans show that four new and improved retail areas, complete with a Melbourne-esque style laneway are coming to the terminal, bringing together an incredible selection of national and international brands. On top of plenty of shopping opportunities, passengers will get to dine in a gourmet food area and shop up a storm in the extended duty-free precinct.
